When you're talking Burgundy and narrowing in on a bottling built on seven distinct plots from across the Mercurey AOC, you know you're in for a treat. Add to the equation that the legendary Devillard family is the roaring, dedicated engine behind the bottle and you’ve got some serious Côte Chalonnaise charm at an exceptionally “non-Burgundy” price point. Hailing from a rich mix of vineyards with fruit that is hand-harvested and hand-sorted, the estate goes easy on the oak using larger 400 liter lightly toasted French oak barrels for a scant 30% of the fruit, all of which guarantees that the spotlight remains entirely on the fruit from vineyard to glass. Mercurey may reign with reds, but when it flexes with a Chardonnay like this – you need to pay attention. This is Burgundy magic sans the Burgundy price tag!

What’s in the Glass?
This is goldilocks in a glass – glints of gold give way to the highbrow aromas of white fruit and sweet floral working its way out in the form of juicy white peach, D ’Anjou pear, snappy green apple and orange blossom. On the palate, it’s a chef’s dream—crisp, fresh, and bursting with fruity-floral vibes, finishing with length and breadth on a distinctly mineral-driven finish.  Perfect for pairing with seared scallops, or a seasonal seafood risotto. It’s drinking like a dream now but can chill in your cellar for 5-10 years – assuming you can wait that long.
