The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Chardonnay rides again!

One of the best pound-for-pound California Chardonnays around, Robert Talbott knew what he was doing when he put roots down on this famous Monterey property in 1982. The Santa Lucia Highlands are known for foggy mornings and cool breezes, creating an excellent home for Chardonnay ripe with fruit and wrapped in clean and precise acidity.

And this famed property has always been defined by its iconic Sleepy Hollow Vineyard, which has become one of the Grand Cru sites in all of the Golden State.

Opening with aromas of Pink Lady apples, poached Bosc pears, mangos, pineapple, and hints of brioche, the palate is filled to the brim with flavors of tropical fruits, spiced pear, vanilla cream and a touch of brown sugar. A textural and sublime mouthfeel is opulent and rich, backed by an energetic and lively intensity. Extended lees contact in the barrel adds layer upon layer of nuance that continues to evolve with air, and you’ll be singing its sweet praise the moment it hits your lips.

It’s basically dessert in a glass!

Scores tend to follow this golden goddess vintage to vintage, and the 2017 is no different with a 92+ from Parker and a little love from Wine Enthusiast too. It’s no surprise, as once again we say this is GRAND CRU DIRT that produces some of the most exceptional fruit in the state.

And just in case that’s not enough, we’re setting the price at $19!! Yes, you might think we’re crazy (and we probably are), but this deal was too good to pass up and we’re making sure the savings land right in your lap.

And your cellar.

This California legend is just a click away… don’t let it ride off into the dark without you.

WA - 92+

The 2017 Chardonnay Sleepy Hollow Vineyard was barrel fermented and aged ten months in 40% new French oak. It's slow to open on the nose but, with time, gives scents of golden apples, honeycomb, crushed hazelnuts and opposing notes of crushed stone and citrus peel. Medium to full-bodied, lush, rounded and satiny textured, it's offering much more on the palate at this stage, lifted by mouthwatering freshness and finishing long and honeyed.

WE - 91

Lime balm, nectarine, mint and gardenia aromas combine on the nose of this bottling from the famed vineyard. The palate is bright, with orange peel and seared Meyer lemon flavors alongside warmer tones of toasted almond and butter that arise toward the finish.
