Some say Russian River Valley is the home of California Pinot.

And for good reason.

When Pinot started making crimson waves throughout the vinous landscape, Russian River Valley was where all the cool kids were hanging out. The ripe and opulent fruit had a way of capturing the imagination, and rather than making wines of a Burgundian nature, the winemakers of the RRV were committed to making 100% California wine with a 100% California personality.

An old English term which means “the river where one goes to drink,” the saying you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink might have gone quite differently if you ever lead us to a river of Pinot Noir. Talk about quenching your thirst with something we truly love.

Raeburn is one of the many small wineries that have now found their way into the Russian River Valley and have called it home, producing wines that evoke a certain character and energy of this special place. 

Their 2021 Pinot Noir is classically beautiful, as waves of ripe strawberries, cherries, raspberry cobbler, Maine blueberries, blackberries, spiced vanilla and toasted hazelnuts, all backed by sultry tannins that help the wine go down smooth as silk. Sustainable farming showcases the quality of the fruit in every sip, and to commit to such an endeavor and keep the price tag within reach is no small feat.

The wines continue to get noticed by Somms, Critics, and Pinotphiles who seek out quality juice, especially given the price of Pinot Noir has skyrocketed over the last decade, and yet Raeburn still makes wine for everyone.
