100% Cabernet Sauvignon from
the high slopes of Howell Mountain.

A VinePals 2022 Best Seller!

Truly one of our favorite appellations in the Napa Valley, its high altitude energy and power is something that speaks to our Cab loving soul.

The 2018 Martin Ray Candlestick Ridge Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon grows in a place that sits at 2,250 feet above sea level. Its soils are a mix of decomposed volcanic ash and red clay, all the while kissing the clouds while extracting a lovely array of minerals that you can taste in every sip. The unique balance of warm sun, cool air, and extended hang time make for quintessential mountain wine that harnesses everything we crave in Cabernet born rugged and wild.

A star studded team that includes winemaker Leslie Renaud (formerly of Foley Estate) and consulting winemaker Keith Emerson (Vineyard 29) set the tone for a wine that unmistakably Howell Mountain, and perfectly reflects the unique hillside terroir that can only come from this beastly landscape situated in the heart of the Vaca range.

A sensational vintage throughout Napa Valley, heady aromas of wild blueberries, ripe blackberries, mineral-laced cherries, currants, licorice, baker’s chocolate and purple flowers lead into a dense palate full of chocolate-dipped plums, graphite, wet earth, and spiced cedar. Velvety tannins engulf the senses, wrapped in a finish full of ripe fruits and sultry minerals.

Another Howell Mountain legend in the making from a team committed to producing exceptional wines rooted in a sense of place, there’s no doubt you’ll stop in your tracks once you pop the cork and pick up what we’re putting down.

Wine Spectator

This is chock ’o block with flavors of dark currant paste and blackberry preserves mixed with tar, licorice snap and alder notes. There’s a nice smoldering feel through the finish as the fruit and earth notes meld. Best from 2023 through 2035.

James Suckling

Lots of ripe berries and plums with flowers, chocolate and some sandalwood on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with fine tannins and a pretty, fruit and berry character at the finish. Drink or hold.
