Bottled only in standout vintages, Transcendent is Black Stallion’s top-shelf, no-holds-barred Cabernet Sauvignon from the upper echelons of Napa Valley (yep – Atlas Peak, Rutherford, Howell Mountain, Calistoga, Yountville – you know the drill). Bold, structured, and dripping in dark fruit, tobacco, and toasty oak, this bottle is dressed to impress!

Black Stallion Winery is rooted in Napa’s Oak Knoll District on a former equestrian estate once known as the Silverado Horseman’s Center. The old indoor arena now houses the winery’s production, with original horse stalls still visible. Opened in 2007 and acquired by the Delicato Family in 2010, Black Stallion blends rich equestrian history with world-class winemaking. 

At the helm of Black Stallion’s winemaking team is German-born Ralf Holdenried, raised in his family’s winery and steeped in winemaking from an early age. The team DELIGHTS in sourcing fruit from high elevations for exquisite structure, texture and concentration and pulling in topnotch fruit from the valley for earthy character and silky tannins. What about oak you ask? Ahh, yes. Oak sits at typically 90-98% new French Oak generally for 20-22 months.

Bucking trends and pulling down some phenomenal scores (95 and 97 points by Tasting Panel and Wine Enthusiast respectively), Transcendent is ready to ride now or hold in the chutes for another decade – if you can hang on that long.
