From the throne of the Southern Rhône!! Meet the 2020 Vaucluse from Domaine Font de Courtedune - made by Rhône phenom, 100 point winemaker Caroline Charrier. From the sandy soils of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, just a stone’s throw from the legendary Château Rayas, comes a Rhône treasure well worth finding!
Châteauneuf-du-Pape is the happy home to sun-drenched, granite-strewn vineyards, celebrated for crafting big, bold, layered wines. Expect black fruit, Provençal herbs, and delicious spicy complexity all packed into a full-bodied, powerhouse.

Caroline Charrier’s grandparents planted roots in Courthézon back in 1943, right inside the eastern edge of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. They picked sandy vineyards not because of visionary viticultural philosophy, but simply because the vineyards were just down the road from the family farm. Win-win!
Fun fact: Courtedune is the old name for Courthézon, with “dune” a nod to the sandy soils that make these wines shine.
Sustainably farmed and running at 14.5% abv Charrier, blends 50% Merlot and 50% Syrah with flair. Whole-cluster fermentation, concrete aging, unfined, unfiltered, it’s gutsy, raw and real, with unapologetic textures and vibrancy shining through. Layered, with concentrated dried fruit, leather, black olive, and cocoa, finishing dusty with a hint of espresso. Technically labeled IGP (Merlot doesn’t play by the regional rules), make NO mistake, this is an insider’s dream that delivers way above its price point.
Drink now or stash for another decade. Perfect with hearty stews, wild game, or roaring fires.
