La Storia Zinfandel Alexander Valley 2020
Ohhhhhh… the sweet smell and taste of California Zinfandel.
Something about summertime just makes us crave it.
Maybe it’s all the barbecues and pool parties, but there’s always a place for a killer bottle of Zin at our table, And Trentadue’s 2020 La Storia is a perfect Zinfandel for what we hope to be an endless summer.
Long before Sonoma County gained any respect as wine country, the Trentadue family moved here from Sunnyvale (now known as Silicon Valley), and purchased 208 acres of land in the heart of Alexander Valley.
For over 55 years, this family has been growing superb fruit, with some of their vines even dating back to 1866 (that’s one year after the Civil War ended). They are true stewards of the land, which is one of the many reasons we love them and their wine so damn much! They’ve been practicing sustainable farming since before it was cool.
Some might say they were the birth of cool, and they’ve got the chops to prove it.
Their 2020 La Storia wine is an absolute thing of beauty, showcasing a bright and lively varietal wine with dynamic aromas of Bing cherry, wild blueberries, black plums, and dried violets. Layers of maple, cocoa powder, spiced cedar and vanilla lead into a full bodied wine with soft tannins that accentuates the juicy finish.
If Willy Wonka were here, he’d say that the Zinberries taste like Zinberries!
That sold us, and it should easily sell you too, ‘cuz this is your golden ticket to a zinerrific wonderland full of lush flavors and decadent aromas.
Fabulous wine from one of Sonoma County’s first families!
