One of Napa’s classic Cabs is at your fingertips.

Newton is one of the stalwarts of the Napa Valley. Perched high atop Spring Mountain, their estate looks over the entire AVA, and has been churning out amazing juice for decades.

The fruit for their infamous Unfiltered Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced exclusively from their own vineyards, including their Spring Mountain estate, Mt. Veeder, and Yountville appellations. The blended fruit represents what they believe to be the true essence of premium Napa Valley Cabernet, and the combination of mountain and valley fruit show the two unique distinctly different sides of the AVA.

And the results are magical.

Winemaker Alberto Bianchi, who was in charge of this spectacular offering, was plucked from the top of this Spring Mountain estate about a year ago, and is now making wines at ADAMVS on Howell Mountain that tip the scales at $400.

That’s some serious talent in the bottle.

93 points from Suckling and a couple of 92s from Spectator & Enthusiast don’t hurt either.

2018 was also a sensational vintage, and in some people’s minds, was a vintage unlike any we have ever seen in the Napa Valley. Concentrated fruit, luscious tannins and vibrant acidity all come together and play in perfect harmony. The deep purple hue drips with dense aromas of wild cherries, pipe tobacco, black raspberries, incense, and purple flowers, leading into a silky palate full of firm tannins that build in complexity with time in the glass.

Newton’s pedigree, a vintage for the ages, and a price too good to be true.

What are you waiting for?

James Suckling

Aromas of fresh plums, bark, pine needles, milk chocolate and cloves. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, sleek tannins. Smooth and creamy with layers of ripe fruit and chocolate. Delicious. Try after 2022.

Wine Spectator

Packed with dark currant paste, warmed fig and blackberry preserve flavors, this brims with rich fruit. Grounded, with strong tug of loam and a singed cedar note that melds nicely through the finish. Has heft, but the fruit is pure. Best from 2022 through 2030.

Wine Enthusiast

Delivering outstanding value, this nuanced, balanced and elegant wine is a showcase of soft, supple tannin and lovely red and black cherry. Leathery texture adds volume and breadth, with a touch of grip, building to a finish of light spice and tobacco.
