Hailing from a long line of 90+ point vintages, this Rhône Valley rockstar sings with a bold, soulful blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah from the sun-scorched, stony soils of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Established in 1835 with a new fire breathed into the estate in 1996, the Delas Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a big, sun-drenched red with plenty of get up and go! The well-respected vineyards sourced to build this bottle represent a gorgeous cross-section of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape communes. This particular area is generally regarded as one of the driest sections of the Côtes du Rhône where the Mistral wind—named from the Provençal word for 'master'—sweeps through with commanding force, while nearly 3,000 hours of sunshine bathe the vineyards each year. Galets - large quartz stones that cover the vineyard floor - store heat by day and release it at night, resulting in the ripeness and depth that define this iconic Rhône red. Calling the growing conditions intense is an understatement—and the wine more than proves it.
What’s in the Glass:
Pouring with deep garnet hues and plenty of palate pep, this classic Rhône red scores on savory spice with a tinge of smoky cedar unfurling to overdeliver on jammy plum, raspberry, dark chocolate and tightly knit tannins. Easy to drink or easy to keep (it’s got a decade or more of serious ageing potential), this Rhone wonder is the yin to all sorts of savory, wood-smoked yang. Give it a firm swirl with braised or grilled beef favorites or classic Provencal stews as fall weather makes its debut.Â
This Haute Pierre is Châteauneuf-du-Pape at its finest—powerful, elegant, and a total steal for the quality.  With double 93-point nods from James Suckling and Wine Enthusiast, it’s a critic’s darling that delivers Rhône Valley charm without breaking the bank. Snag this gem and let it steal the show at your next dinner party! Hurry—this deal’s hotter than the Rhône’s Mistral wind and certainly won’t last long!
"A ripe and rich Chateauneuf, but with moderate tannins for this appellation, and that gives it a certain gracefulness on the palate. Lots of bitter chocolate and damson plum character on the generous palate, but the long savory finish is decisively dry. This should age well. Drink or hold."
- James SucklingÂ
"Aromas of black plum, blueberry, cassis, black licorice and olives waft through violets and dusty wood musk. The palate broods in fresh blackberries, raspberries, freshly ground black pepper and clove. This full-bodied expression has fine grippy tannins that trail into a black-tea finish."
