Mountain Made. Mountain High.

Meet Ironstone’s estate-grown 2021 Reserve Cab Franc, the cool-headed mountain climber. Born on the rugged, volcanic slopes of the Sierra Foothills, it carries with confidence, powerfully built, yet absolutely packing altitude-earned elegance. By day it soaks up the sun like a champ, by night it kicks back in crisp mountain air, always engaged in this diurnal shift to retain fresh, mouthwatering acidity.Â
This sleek Cab Franc hails from Ironstone Vineyards, the Kautz family’s fourth-generation Sierra Foothills estate. Founded in 1989, they’ve mastered the art of coaxing elegance and minerality from the region’s volcanic soils via savvy sustainable farming techniques.
From the high slopes of Hay Station Ranch (2,400 ft), this 2021 vintage nails Cab Franc’s pure, mountain-grown energy. Warm days, cold nights, and a long maceration dial in the detail, while French and American oak add polish without the heft.
Delivering grace in the glass with a little flex - rich, soft, and inviting, the 2021 Ironstone Reserve Cab takes off with mile high aromas of fleshy black cherry, blackberry, and warm spice. The palate is stacked with juicy plum, dark cherry, and a touch of sweet oak. Smooth, supple, and a medium-long finish, it’s just as happy pouring tonight or hanging tight for another few years in the cellar.
Pair with herb-crusted lamb chops, roasted duck, beef stew or aged cheeses like Manchego or Gruyère.Â

 Big flavor. Small splurge. Win-win.
From the Kautzes & Murphys estate, this concentrated red aged for 12 months in French and American oak offers aromas and flavors of chocolate, plum, lavender, soy sauce, sweet laurel, and violets. Dusty cocoa settles atop a mineral platform on the elegant finish.
